Picnic Time for Teddy Bears

I feel like I've left this world for a while. I have honestly been so busy the past week, that the last thing I've been able to do at night is get on the computer. I haven't been Facebooking, tweeting, emailing or blogging. So we shall mark this as my foray back into the online world.

Last week, Erin and Aidan were here for a visit, and we kept the littles quite busy, and had no problems tiring them out! We celebrated summer as a five-some...Nana, two Moms (or Aunties, as the case may be!), and two littles...hitting the sun, sand and surf.

On Sunday, we did the Victorian Teddy Bear Picnic at the Fanshawe Pioneer Village! With the unpredictability of two-year olds, we were never sure how any outing was going to go. Teddy Bears in hand, we were off.

The Picnic included Bear paper dolls, story time, Victorian games on the green and a parade with Bearemy from Build-A-Bear.

Having a rest
We weren't exactly sure what the reaction would be to a large furry brown bear wandering around once Bearemy arrived. Our girl tends to shy away from anything new or weird, and this was definitely not something that she had ever experienced before.

She didn't search the crowd for us. The only thing she wanted was for the big brown bear in jeans to notice her.

When it came time for the parade, Maisie was right there at the front, ready to walk in Bearemy's footsteps all around the Village.

And to the tune of "The Teddy Bear's Picnic", all the kids and their teddies marched behind Bearemy.

Eventually she dropped back in the pack a bit, but she marched from start to finish.

Hugs for Bearemy
It was a fun day, and we learned something special about our girl...she's strong, and brave and when she wants something, she will march right ahead and get it.

More to come...

  2. So glad it went well. that bear would freak me out a bit, I think, so good for Maisie. Maybe she just likes having an audience. :) Welcome back!
