All Things Royal & Pretty

It's everywhere you turn...every channel, every talk show, every newspaper, every website. The Royal Wedding.
I haven't been much interested this week, on account of the fact that we have been over saturated by the whole thing all week. But today is different. Today is the real thing...no more speculation about what she's wearing, how her hair will be, who is designing her dress, what the vows will be. Now we know it all, and have seen it all, and it was a beautiful thing.

Everyone will remember where they were the day William & Kate got married. Some were dressed up and celebrating at a party, some were lucky enough to be at the actual ceremony or at least in the crowd outside. But from our own tiny little corner of the planet, I spent the morning watching the new "Princess" marry her Prince...and I did it with my own little Princess, in our jammies.

We turned it on at 8 (I couldn't get up at 6 or any earlier!!), as I had PVR'd it, and we rewound it to the ceremony. Maisie loved the pretty Princess, and if she wasn't on the screen for a minute, she would ask "Where the Princess go?". Then she would say in a soft, dreamy voice "Sooooo prettttyyyy".

Maisie actually let me watch the coverage all morning, until about 11:00 when I decided I was about to go completely cross-eyed from the post-wedding speculation...apparently, we're back to making assumptions on what she'll wear for the reception and party, and where they'll go on the honeymoon. So, we turned it off and we're back to normal. I'll probably watch the ceremony again later on Fast Forward when Mike gets home.
I have to say, I think we need to bring headwear back into regular fashion. I am absolutely in love with the cocktail hats, or "fascinators", They are just the most cute little things I've ever seen! Way better than a big hat. Just a thought...maybe this wedding will bring it back!

Yesterday we went to Toys R Us with everyone, and Nana bought both littles a toy. Maisie got a "Little Mommy" bath doll. She comes with a diaper, slippers, a ducky towel and shampoo.

She was a tad concerned at first.

But once she got into it, it was fun to give the new baby a bath!

Tonight we're going out to dinner, minus littles! Always fun!

  1. Enjoy your evening! I'm glad you got to watch with the Little Princess today - it's a special memory. I didn't watch this one, but I read articles and looked at pictures. And I remember Charles and Di's. I'm hoping for a much happier ending for William and Katie.

  2. When you mentioned Charles & Di, I just realized that I was almost the exact same age when they got married as Maisie is now!! I was 2 1/2...and I have some vague recollection of the ongoings. So weird and cool!!
I'm hoping for a much happier ending for William and Kate too...it has to be better, right?
